We have all been driving down the road when the low tire pressure sensor comes on, and in the rush of daily life it tends to get ignored. However, there are many reasons why you should tend to low tire pressure immediately. Although it may appear to be an issue that can be put off for a while, doing so can interfere with the functionality of your vehicle and safety of your passengers.

When your tire is inflated properly, the weight of your vehicle's cargo and passengers can be distributed evenly. Low tire pressure disrupts this balance and can put excessive pressure on specific tires or spots within a tire that can cause damage. Not to mention, excessive heat can build up in the tire wall that can lead to a blowout.

Vehicle handling can also be affected by low tire pressure. The manufacturer's guide for each vehicle states what the optimal tire pressure should be, so when the pressure drops below that point agility and maneuverability can be affected. Taking corners and stopping are just a few actions that will be less effective when tire pressure is lower than recommended.
